Cynthia Makes A Run For It by Pebble Beach Heritage Collection
Cynthia Makes A Run For It by Pebble Beach Heritage Collection. In 1938, a talented sea lion named Cynthia was brought to a golf course in Pebble Beach to demonstrate the relative ease with which one could knock a ball into the cup. Julian P. Graham*, official photographer for the links was poised to record the occasion. However, much to everyone's surprise and her trainer’s distress, Cynthia's became distracted by the sounds and smell of the sea and she decided to make a run for it. Cynthia was last seen that day heading towards what became her new home in the sea. Available exclusively from the Pebble Beach Company as a fine giclee print on acid-free watercolor paper 14" x 18" matted; framed images are also available 23" x 27" by special order. Please call 831.622.6538 for more information.
* Julian P. Graham's (1886-1963) camera shop and dark room was situated across from the entryway to The Lodge for many years. As the official photographer for Del Monte Properties (now the Pebble Beach Company) from 1924 to 1963, his access to photograph people, places and things in and around Pebble Beach was unequalled.
