As a young artist growing up in Carmel and Pebble Beach, California, Shelley Cost was recognized for the warmth and life reflected in her work. She was only eleven years old when she received her first commission. With encouragement and technical instruction from her father, well-respected artist James Peter Cost, Shelley Cost began laying the foundation for her work as an accomplished artist.
A graduate from UCLA with a fine arts degree, Shelley Cost joined her talented father in the family gallery in Carmel for twenty-five years. Later, her work would be exhibited in galleries and shows in Maui, Scottsdale, San Francisco and currently in the Images Gallery at The Lodge at Pebble Beach.
