The release of Pebble Beach Resort’s exclusive Centennial wine One Hundred celebrated our 100th Anniversary in 2019. The wine was developed by our own Sommelier team and world-renowned winemaker Andy Erickson, who has collaborated with many elite Napa wineries including Screaming Eagle and Opus One. This exclusive 2016 vintage wine comprises 58 percent cabernet sauvignon from grapes grown in Oakville, 39 percent cabernet franc from grapes grown in Coombsville and Carneros, and 3 percent petit verdot, also from Oakville grapes — aged 22 months in 60 percent new French oak barrels.
“The cabernet sauvignon gives you really rich, dark fruit notes. Cabernet franc adds more of an exotic spice note,” Erickson says. “Petit verdot on its own can be very intense. In musical terms, it’s almost like a bassoon: Alone, it may not be that pleasant; but as an undertone, it’s really beautiful. California wines can be very fruity. Petit verdot offers an earthy, grounded note and, because it is so dark, adds to the color of the wine.”
Only 2019 hand-numbered bottles of One Hundred were produced. It is available for purchase exclusively at Stave Wine Cellar.
