Petra Cole-Lempa

A San Diego native, Petra was mentored by her father, a PGA Member for half a century. She began playing golf at the age of two and excelled at the amateur level, winning multiple junior tournaments and lettering in both high school and college for four years. While at San Diego State University, she earned her Master’s in Public Administration and was part of the All-Academic team for two seasons. Highlights of her career include winning the San Diego City Amateur and finishing as the runner-up in the California Women’s State Amateur at Quail Lodge. Petra has also qualified for numerous USGA events, with a top thirty-two finish in the US Women’s Mid-Amateur.
Transitioning to the professional level, Petra earned her PGA Membership as an assistant at Torrey Pines. In 2014, she was named the Southern California PGA Women’s Player of the Year, and her family received the San Diego Chapter PGA Heritage Award. Later, she relocated to Coronado, where she developed and taught player development programs and fostered partnerships with organizations like the Susan G. Komen Foundation of San Diego, YMCA of La Jolla, Therapeutic Recreation for the City of San Diego, and the City of Santee. Petra’s excellence in player development was recognized by the Southern California PGA in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, she was featured in California Golf + Travel and the SCPGA’s Teaching Summit’s “The Book”. Petra served one year on the Southern California PGA Board of Directors before moving to Pebble Beach.
