The rain stayed away and the courses were packed with fans following their favorite players and celebrities on the eve of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. But even if the rain comes back, Jordan Spieth is OK with that.
“You hear the stories of people hitting 5-irons into No. 7 at Pebble Beach, and you almost just think these courses are meant to be played in those conditions,” said Spieth, whose face is all over Pebble Beach, including across a giant globe between Nos. 6-8.
Our 5 Favorite Things from Wednesday:
1. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE BIRDIES A 226-YARD PAR-3 — BUT LOSES HOLE TO AN ACE
Willy Mac @Mavandnash just aced the 226yd par 3 7th at Monterrey! Oh, and the four ball played the hole in 8! Nice 2 @jtimberlake btw ? pic.twitter.com/BzRetAnAAq

Two-time PGA TOUR winner Will MacKenzie sunk a hole-in-one playing with the two Justins — Justin Rose and Justin Timberlake. The foursome played the 20th-toughest hole of the 2015-16 PGA TOUR season in 4-under — scores they’d surely like to keep once the tournament tees off tomorrow. No. 7 on the Shore Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club played to a 3.224 scoring average last year.
2. IRISH PRO SEAMUS POWER ALMOST KNOCKS IT IN ON NO. 7 AT PEBBLE BEACH
The PGA TOUR rookie is making his first start at Pebble Beach. Wouldn’t that have been an incredible introduction to America’s No. 1 public course?
3. TODAY WAS THE DAY TO IMPERSONATE HALE IRWIN’S MIRACLE BOUNCE OFF THE ROCKS
If you need a reminder, here’s the shot. The low-tide would have been perfect!
The weather was comfortable throughout the three courses in Pebble Beach. Tee times have been pushed up an hour for tomorrow’s opening round — hopefully to get in play in ahead of some stormy weather. But no rain is in the forecast for Saturday or Sunday!
4. BILL MURRAY ALWAYS KEEPS YOU GUESSING WITH HIS CLOTHING — LINE?
“It looks like a mirac… It’s in the hole! It’s in the hole! It’s in the hole!” pic.twitter.com/wfgvbkpN1W
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) February 8, 2017
The King of Celebrities at Pebble Beach sported his own line of clothing, as well as a pair of peculiar mismatched rain gloves, while entertaining the masses in a five-hole celebrity shootout. He also spent half a hole rehearsing his swing with a rake, quizzed a CHP about the gun he was carrying, and carried on with his usual lovable shenanigans.
5. COLT FORD STUCK IT ON NO. 7 TO CAPTURE A CLOSEST-TO-THE-PIN CONTEST
The unique country singer and rapper is a former mini-tour player, and carries a 2-handicap for this event. See the 10 Best Celebrity Golfers playing this week.
