The Pebble Beach Golf Academy Debuts Renovated Teeing Ground

Golf at Pebble Beach Resorts is as popular as ever, which means guests and Pebble Beach Golf Academy members are needing more space to practice.

They’ll have that now after a just-completed renovation to the teeing ground at the Pebble Beach Golf Academy.

The newly expanded teeing ground is nearly the size of a football field, with 54,000 square feet now available for practice. (A football field is just over 57,000 square feet.)

The larger tee deck is now 400-feet wide and 135-feet deep, providing 40% more space than the previous setup. This additional space ensures golfers will have clean, enticing grass lies as they warm-up or practice.

The expanded teeing ground will also create a premium practice environment for the best players in the world when Pebble Beach Golf Links hosts four U.S. Opens in the next 26 years (2027, 2032, 2037, 2044), and four U.S. Women’s Opens over the next 28 years (2023, 2035, 2040, 2048). Spyglass Hill will also host the U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Women’s Open back-to-back in 2030.

The renovated teeing ground is part of a 350-yard double-ended driving range that also features a robust short-game area complete with greenside and fairways bunkers, as well as chipping areas, and a 4,500 square-foot practice putting green.

Golf Academy Members and Resort guests can also reserve time inside the 3,000-square foot learning center, which features three fitting studios.
